With a population of approximately 12,000 residents, Canandaigua is located in Ontario County at the top of Canandaigua Lake. Taken from the Seneca word for “the chosen spot,” residents of this fine community definitely feel as if they are living in an exceptional place. Historically, it was the location of a large Seneca village for many years until 1779 when they were forced out.
